Wine Tasting and Local Products

The Chianti region is the production area of one of the most famous wines in the world. The region is characterised by rolling hills, fields and woods, all set in a unique landscape created by man over the past 1000 years.

Sorted vineyards of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia and Trebbiano, alternate in an area dotted with farmhouses, villas, castles and villages surrounded by fortifications. Wine tasting is one of the main attractions of Tuscany. Many of the wines are produced under the Chianti label, each with a unique flavor and taste: Chianti Classico, Chianti Rufina, Chianti Colli Fiorentini and others.

You won't be limited to tasting these wines at the Lounge Bar of the Hotel Le Fontanelle. Feel free to ask our Concierge Team for suggestions of tastings at the different wineries in the area, where you'll also be able to taste typical products, such as meats, cheeses, crostini and bruschetta.

Cooking Classes

To understand the ancient flavours of Tuscan cuisine and be the protagonist of a day of culinary art, the Hotel Le Fontanelle organizes cooking classes, both through group classes, and individual courses, with professional chefs in outdoor facilities.

Under the guidance of an expert, Guests will prepare typical Tuscan traditional dishes through a practical lesson that will end with a lunch or dinner in which Guests will be changed from cook to understanding critics of their own creations.
